One day a month, from wake to sleep. A day in the life project, something new and purposeful. Seeing beauty in the everyday, seeing us. Follow us as the Foto Fifty group journeys into another project together.
This particular Monday was both typical and not. Typical in that I have an interesting relationship with Mondays. I never quite know what to do. Productive in what way? Adventure in what way? Play in what way? There are rhythms for Tuesdays and Thursdays and the other days fall into place nicely, but Mondays. Well, Mondays have a weird expectation and sometimes I get her just right and sometimes we’re just off.
Not typical because JD was in Tulsa, on this particular Monday.
I photographed this day in black and white for no other reason than that I thought for one of these posts, I wanted to try. The day was a mixture of good and bad. Triumphs and meltdowns. Intentional mothering and then losing my cool. Those moments weren’t photographed. The meltdowns at the end of the night had only to do with book choice, by the way, and the fact that we simply can not read ALL the books before bedtime. Plus, daddy was gone. And that changes everything.
